PLEASE COMMITT ME OR GIVE ME THE AWARD FOR GRAMMY OF THE YEAR

Let me preface this post with the fact that my husband is out of town. He could take 10 small kids to the movie and never have one problem. Just a FACT. Very little moves his needle.
Amanda and Micah are away on a long weekend to see LSU play and then a business golf tournament. I am the "keeper of the kids", at least until Pop gets home early tomorrow....(Believe me, I have a new appreciation for all Amanda does.)
But this was no problem that a Grammy could not handle....Well maybe that's not exactly the way our Saturday turned out...I wish I had better pictures to document the day...just had to use my cell phone. I DID have my camera in my purse, but I DID NOT have a free hand to get it out. I started the day tired as both boys slept with me and Jack slept every way EXCEPT straight. I think I have a permanent foot in my side. BUT we had a mission for the day. I was determined to get both boys a haircut and take them to the movie.
Jack, at 20 months, had a haircut at Disney, but that was May and now he had curls....long blond curls! Parker, at 10 is very serious about how his hair is cut. I had PROMISED him that I would tell the girl to just do a tiny trim and not touch the front! (she did great)...Jack had been a "wild man" all morning...as in bouncing off the walls, so just getting out the door was a minor feat. Then I remembered I had left my phone on the charger...Back to get my phone...Just getting a 20 month old buckled in a car seat is a trick, especially if he does not want to get in. I decided we would go to one of the "cool" hair places, Sports Clips, and Jack would be intrigued by the decor. He fell asleep exactly one minute before I pulled in the parking spot. What to do? Parker and I decided that this might be great. He might sleep through the trim. Wrong. And why in the world would I wear black? They took us right back (no waiting) and the cutest gal trimmed Jack's hair. He did really good...only a couple of jerks. I could tell she had trimmed lots of toddlers...Mission accomplished. I paid and gave Jack some tip money and he was the cutest thing you have ever seen taking the tip back to the girl.
As soon as we got in the car, I snapped some pictures of his BIG BOY haircut.
He has no idea what all the fuss is about
Parker was very happy with his CUT
HE really is a little ANGEL!
Our next stop is Sonic, where he gets a Wacky Meal...he loves to eat....tater tots are one of his favorites. But he WANTS Parker's cheesburger.
Then we head to the movie. Parker and I are making a plan. If he acts up or talks out loud, I will take him out and Parker can stay and watch "Astro Boy"! Once we arrive at the movie, I decide I will change his diaper in the car..Parker unbuckled him and he climbs in the front seat...laughing for some reason. Parker then informs me that Jack has poured his drink on his jeans. Great! And I don't mean just a little...a lot. I search his bag and I have 5 shirts and not one pair of jeans. Poor planning on my part.
We discuss going next door to Walmart and Parker running in and buying him a pair of jeans...but we only have 15 minutes before the movie starts. Remember this is his FIRST MOVIE...He does not seem to be bothered by having wet clothes, so we just go on it. Parker buys the tickets and I try to make sure Jack does not run away. He is too heavy to carry and he is FEARLESS. WE get the tickets and our plan is to get our seats and then Parker will go back and get the food. Efficient as I am, I have a bottle, fig newtons, and Halloween candy that he loves in his bag. The problem now is he does not want ANY of those things. He wants what Parker gets. Then I see Parker coming up the steps with the theater manager with him helping him carry all the LOOT he has bought...This movie trip has already cost 40.00! Parker hands me a diet coke (and trust me I needed one badly) and Jack immediately spills the coke all over me....all over the black pants that are covered in blond hair. Normally I would sit near the top, but we decided that we should sit down low, in case Jack threw a fit and I had to carry him out...It would be less of a "show"! All seems to be settling down until Jack decides he wants the candy Parker bought for himself...At this point, it is just give it to him and go get you some more. Another $4.00! Now I am praying for them to turn the lights down. Jack did watch the movie and for 90% of it he acted perfect...as long as we kept the bottle full and kept the candy coming. But then he decided he was ready to go!..rather he was ready to RUN away from me. We finally made it to the car. I just said a prayer of thanks that it was over and I had accomplished the two things I had on my "to do" list! Forget the fact that I was about to drop.
Does he have the LIFE or what?
We finally made it home and at 10:00 PM tonight I realized the only nap he has had all day was that ONE minute before we reached the hair place. I would love to go and snap a picture of him sound asleep and looking adorable, but the FEAR is too great that it might wake him up. And this Grammy needs a BREAK!!!!

I am hoping to meet some of you face to face in the future...You are now a part of my family.
