THE BEST DATE EVER

I had not planned to post tonight but had the most FANTASTIC DAY and DATE. I am feeling fine and thank you for being concerned. My finger is much better and I am totally fine. If Amanda is reading this she is laughing, as I was looking at some patio furniture tonight in Target and (lets just say a chair slid out from under me) BUT NO ONE SAW IT....Thank you Lord. I am praying for NO MORE falls for awhile. I was not hurt in the least except for laughing so hard when I got in the car and again when I was telling Amanda. My kids would pay me to reinact it. We laugh a lot in our family and mostly at each other.

On to my date...I had told you that Parker and I were going on a little trip with my husband this weekend. After the fall and with rain and cold in the forecast, we decided to stay here and have a STAYCATION here in Shreveport..I had been reading about them so thought Parker and I would try it. I highly recommend it. Don't feel bad for Parker. We are taking him on a Disney Cruise in late May for his 11th birthday. On to today's date.....Some of you may disagree with this and if you do, you don't need to tell me. The deal is already made. I SO WANT PARKER TO BE A READER. He already loves it and has read many books, but now we are getting to the big thick books. So I buy him series that he and I find...and I give him $10.00 for every book he reads. Grammy's can do that. He had already read the first two THICK books in the Twilight series, plus every WIMPY KID book, so he had some spending money. We headed to Walmart and while I got my nails done, he shopped. Don't worry, he checks with me every few minutes and he knows all the STRANGER DANGER MOVES.

I have to interrupt this DATE to tell you a story that Parker is still talking about. I LOVE LITTLE BOYS pajamas. There is a saying in our family that I DO NOT want any of my grandkids to wear pajamas that are beading up. I know weird. While Parker was shopping, I checked the children's section...always do...and saw all these cute pajamas, many that I had already bought in early winter for 10.00 a pair. But today they were on sale for 5.00, so I decide I will buy some for next year. They only had Jack and Graysons size, but I picked out a few pair. When I get to the check out these regular 10.00 PJ's rang up 1.00. I looked at the checker and she said they just marked them down. So I go back and get more...as in 15 pair, thinking that is the best 15.00 I have spent in a long time. $150.00 worth of CUTE pajamas for 15.00. When I get back to a different checker, he says they are half, so he takes 50% off the $1.00. I GET 15 pair of PAJAMAS for 8.00.

I MADE TWO PICTURES SO YOU WILL REALLY BELIEVE ME. I HAD SO MUCH FUN FOLDING THEM TONIGHT and thinking about how cute they will be in them. Ok, that was off on a tangent. Sorry!!

Back to the DATE. Parker and I headed to the BOARDWALK and bought our movie tickets to DIARY OF A WIMPY KID and then went across the street to The Cheesecake Bistro. He is a cheesecake LOVER. We had a great pizza and then their famous cheesecake. Parker loves the plain and I tried something I had never had before. The Hawaiian cheesecake....loaded with pineapple sauce and toasted coconut. It was FABULOUS....back to walking tomorrow. We then had an hour to kill, so we walked around and did a little shopping. I had just got my name in the blog Easter exchange and I knew a little about the gal that I was assigned. I want to bless her over and above and I will explain that in a later post...We found some GREAT things and I can hardly wait to start putting it together tomorrow.
Parker is the BEST DATE. Out of the blue, he says to me as we are walking to the theater, "I know why everyone is staring at me!" I am wearing a Vikings shirt and hat and they think I should have on SAINTS stuff. They are JUST WRONG"I had to laugh as I don't think anyone was looking at him. He just wanted me to know he loved my TEAM.

After a great meal, we saw the cutest movie....I had not read the Wimpy Kid books, so at lunch Parker gave me a little background. It was really a super cute movie. Then we got a look at what we will get to see in the next few months.
When we finished with the movie we met Amanda at Barnes and Noble and had some coffee and then went next door to Old Navy and got the boys some summer clothes. One more stop at Target and our STAYCATION continues. Tomorrow night we are including Jack, so his Mom and Dad can have a date. So both boys will be my bed partners tomorrow night.. Have I told you lately that I am madly in love with these little men?

MY LIFE TODAY

THURSDAY FUN or NOT!

I made it through tree season, no injuries, no falls, and then LAST NIGHT, when HOME ALONE, tripped over a huge grapevine wreath. I started to make some pictures, but my leg is really not that cute...just cut. But I am afraid my finger is broken. I bent my middle finger totally back trying to catch myself. It was not a pretty site. AT ALL. I actually missed a step on concrete in my shop after catching my capri's on a very large wreath. It felt like it took me an hour to fall. Blood was gushing out of my leg and I am thinking stitches...but once I got it to stop bleeding it was not that deep.

But my finger bent all the way back and today it is swollen 3 times its normal size and a beautiful shade of purple. AND my body feels like it was run over...So after several baths in Epsom salt and doing very little today...I am at least OK. I am so thankful I did not break anything major and I really think my finger is just strained ...Maybe the swelling will be down tomorrow and I can just forget it. I did get a beautiful piece of SNAIL MAIL today from a dear friend.

Today Austin and Parker are spending the day. I love COUSINS CAMP....They are no trouble and have played their DS, Wii, some kind of Nerf gun game outside and laughed a lot. They have NOT said two or three words to me all day...but I am been listening to them. They are having a blast. And that's what SPRING BREAK is about.

I wonder....when Parker will be too old for trips with THE GRANDPARENTS

I crave....ice cream and sorry to say diet coke (but I am working on that one)

I remember...when there was no TIVO and you HAD to be at home at the exact time a show came on

I need.... to clean out my closet

I forget....my cell phone and have to go back for it more times that I would like

I feel....sleepy tonight and that never happens to me at 11PM

I can....read blogs for hours.

I can't.... wait for Dancing With The Stars to start back Monday night.

I am happy....when I am anywhere on vacation with my family, preferably Disney

I lose....my happy attitude when telemarketers continue to call

I sing...in church

I listen...to talk radio in the car or the NFL station on Sirius radio

I shop.....less than I did in my younger years.

I eat....too often when I am not really HUNGRY.

I love.....My FAMILY

I still have Spring Wreath orders coming in EVERYDAY, so here are a couple of shots of ones I made tonight for a house with double doors. I was too lazy to take mine off my front door and hang them, so these are poor pictures with the wreaths just hanging on a chair!

Before I tell you about my week coming up with my main man (well one of them)......Parker talked me into giving another card package away.....It did not take much persuasion and he prides himself in picking JUST the RIGHT NUMBER.... It will be a mixture of EASTER and EVERYDAY cards. I feel so strongly about the snail mail post, that I am going to continue to HELP you be a card sender. I am just imagining all the smiles of those that walk to their mailboxes and come back with a card. My husband is on the road this week with a college baseball team, so Parker and I are hanging out at home for a few days. I cannot think of any person I would rather hang out with. We have planned a Wii bowling tournament for tomorrow...and he promises me he will win. We have to fit in a couple of dentist appointments, Bunco, a few more wreaths to get made and delivered and then we are going to meet up with Jack on Thursday for a fun weekend. First on our list is seeing THE DIARY OF A WIMPY KID. Parker just reminded me of of our trip last summer where I let him rent lots of movies in the hotel..I think he has that in mind again. The weather may even be warm enough to swim. I am just excited that he still feels like a weekend with THE GRANDPARENTS is still fun. Little Jack was here for supper tonight him. HE always makes me LAUGH. He has the cutest personality and his new thing is tattling. He is by far the funniest kid I have ever known. Thank you Lord, for allowing me to be his Grammy! If you ever just get tired of hearing how much I love my little ones, I will totally understand. I just want them to be able to read this years from now and KNOW they made my life complete.

A NEW SPRING WREATH I MADE...I HAVE MADE 50 or so, and not made one picture. What was I thinking? A DAY AT THE DUCK POND

After that previous heavy post, here are some FUN PICTURES that Amanda sent me from her phone yesterday while they were at the duck pond. This is my daughter and Jack's beautiful Mom...Amanda! What a great Mom she is to Parker and Jack. How blessed I am to call her MY GIRL! Jack is a TAD frustrated....I know he wants to go FASTER! Micah and Jack sharing a SPECIAL MOMENT. TWO PEAS in a POD!
