A DAY MY DAD LOVED

****I AM PRETTY SURE HE IS SMILING
To my Dad there was nothing like the Kentucky Derby. He lived and breathed horse racing for as long as I can remember. He owned many horses and named them after his kids and grandkids. Horse Racing was his passion, his life. Last year, a jockey that rode for him many times, Calvin Borel, won a HUGE race, riding MINE THAT BIRD! I knew my Dad was smiling. My Dad died a few years ago, but some of my sweetest memories are seeing him at the track in his element. I can still see him, the exact place he stood during any race he had a horse in. He loved going to the paddocks watching them saddle the horses. He always had a racing form in his hand. And if his horse lost(and many did) I can still see him making his way to the jockey to see what went wrong. I can still remember his words if they ran bad, his HUGE SMILE, if one of them won. He loved to have family in the winners circle. We have a picture of Parker in the Winners Circle when he was three months old. So today I am thinking of you Daddy and I know you are watching. I wish I knew who you had your money on.
DON"T FORGET THERE ARE 2 GIVEAWAYS on

JACK BEING JACK

I CANNOT IMAGINE LIFE WITHOUT HIM!

Never in my year of blogging, have I had the response I have had to
this post. The emails along with the comments have been almost overwhelming. Sadly there are many situations like this one and I had NO idea I was touching on a subject that so many shared. Maybe not the same exact situation, but a prison situation of some kind. Some bloggers did not want to share their details, but emailed me. All I can say is WOW!.
Many of you are new readers, meaning some of you will have seen some of these pictures before.
I have received a couple of letters from Barry this week and in each one all he can talk about is that three hours he got acquainted with his grandson for the first time; this little man we call JACK! For me, I have known him since he took his first breath. I know him WELL. I cannot imagine life without him. I know his LAUGH, I know his SNUGGLE, I know his LIKES and DISLIKES, I know his look when he falls asleep and his
grin when he wakes up. TONIGHT I am going to show you a FEW of the MANY FACES of a little boy that JUST MAY HAVE CHANGED A MAN'S LIFE! There will be those who wonder how I could know that. And the truth is I don't, but in his letters I read HOPE, JOY and a REASON to LIVE. WHO knows, maybe a REASON to BE A DIFFERENT MAN. MAYBE the HOPE of a SECOND CHANCE! I am pretty sure he knows he failed at fatherhood, at least up until now, but maybe, just maybe he will have another chance. And I for one, will be hoping and praying that HE IS A CHANGED MAN! SO here is JACK being JACK!

I BELIEVE THIS LITTLE GUY COULD MAKE THE DIFFERENCE!

LEAVING THE LAST POST UP FOR AWHILE

I want to leave this post up near the top for a few more days. The notes and comments have shown me it was a post that was meant to be shared.
I did post tonight at

*****If you won one of the prizes in the BLOG PARTY they are coming soon. I had some major dental problems last week that are STILL a problem. I broke a bridge which in turn messed up a crown, so I spent more time than I wanted to in the dental chair...and looks like I might be headed back there tomorrow. Tonight I am beginning to think I may have an infection. Please pray that I don't! I am famous for getting one after dental procedures and I so hoped I had missed it this time. Just wanted you to know I had not forgotten the WINNERS!!!!
