This Was a Monday and Another Winner

*****DO NOT MISS THIS POST ENJOYING THE SMALL THINGS!

It has been a Monday in every way. Jack came home from the trip that Parker and I decided not to go on, VERY SICK. And he is rarely sick...I venture to guess that in the 37 years we have been married he has said he was really sick less than ten times...He is just not a complainer. If I am sick I want everyone to know it. Not him...so when he said he was so sick last night, I knew he was. I know he had a heart cath a few weeks ago, but that was more of just a precaution, not sick. This has been SICK. This was the Monday after Spring Break so our primary care doctor was not in until tomorrow...so I took a chance and called the cardiologist's nurse, since we had so recently seen them (plus I had taken her a gift basket) and told her what was going on...and she said he could come immediately. MIRACLE....and after last nights vote, those kinds of things may be a thing of the past. His main symptoms were a hard time breathing, could not eat, felt like something was on his chest, nausea, reflux (which he has never had) and just a general feeling that he was getting sicker. I will admit I was a little scared. I fully expected him to be in the hospital tonight and even packed a bag on the side....just in case..Then when he called Amanda and said he did not feel like he could take the boys to breakfast and school, I knew it was bad...I can never remember him not taking them EVER if he was in town. One look at him and you knew he felt horrible. Long story short and a LONG day, the doctor thinks he has gastritis. He said he had every symptom and it was nothing to do with his heart.

He gave him meds and set up an appointment with a GI doctor in a couple of weeks. Tonight the meds are finally kicking in and he is feeling a little better. If any of you have had this or have any knowledge about it, share it with me. The littles were here this afternoon and so concerned that POP did not feel good. Parker was so sweet. He came in the room I was in and said "Grammy, I think Pop is sick"! That's something they have never seen.

Bloggers are getting their card packages and I am so excited...SNAIL MAIL is alive and well. More will be shipped tomorrow. Becky got hers today and did a post on it. I have received so many thank you notes. Please know the pleasure is all mine.
TONIGHT'S WINNER IS Theresa at They Call Me Ganky. Her blog is new to me, but looks so cute. Stop by and say hello to her. I tivoed Dancing With the Stars and am looking forward to watching it later tonight.

Oh sweet friend, how scary! My husband is just like Jack so I understand. When they admit they're sick, then you KNOW it's time to be concerned. I'll add him to my prayers tonight.

You are so sweet to mention my blog. I'm truly touched. I really am.

I look forward to visiting those you've mentioned. If you like them, I know I will too.

Hugs!

I sure hope your husband gets to feeling better. Mine is the same way, he is only sick when he is BAD sick. I don't know anything about gastritis but hopefully the meds will make him feel better. Thanks again and have a blessed day!

So sorry to hear about Jack! We will be praying for a speedy recovery. My hubby had his ureteral stent removed yesterday after a painful 10 days. (Did you know those things are a foot long? With pigtail curls on the end? Ahhhh!) Too bad we don't live closer and we could have put the two of them together. They could have commiserated together and reminisced about the old days!

Oh no! Hope Jack is feeling better. I don't know much about gastritis. It sounds painful.

The grandkids are sweet to be so concerned.

Tell him no more scares, my heart was in my throat before I got to the "he's ok" part. I just read your staycation post, such fun!! Sure hope some of those cards come my way sometime, I am almost out of my own stash. I won't wait to see before sending one to a former neighbor girl friend of my daughters who just suffered her second 15 week miscarrage. She is an amazing woman and is giving God the gloy for her son she will never hold, but my heart is broken for her.

So glad you were able to get in to see the doctor. I lived in the UK for six years in addition to my husband working in the medical industry (not insurance or pharmaceuticals) so needless to say I have many feelings (not good ones) on our move to nationalized health. A Pandoras box has been opened and I'm not sure we can ever get it closed again.

oops...sidetracked with all my frustration! Sorry. Always fun to visit here...always lots happening. Hope your husband feels better soon. Take care.
