THANKS

An unusual post for me...No pictures, no stories, just a huge and sincere thanks for welcoming me into the blogging community this past year .

I have had a different kind of Thanksgiving. This is not a pity party, so not looking for comments consoling me..This is just the way it happened this year. I am ALL GOOD!. Normally, I work and decorate a home on Thanksgiving. This year it worked out to get that home done early, giving me a much needed day off. It is 5pm and I have not seen a person with the exception of Bella the dog. My husband helped out a friend and drove a sports team to Nashville.. My kids and grand kids are spending the day at the other side of their families. Remember I DO NOT cook, so it would not be smart or very tasty to come here. Parker is with his Dad. I slept until noon (much needed) and then (don't laugh) had a chicken salad sandwich from my favorite deli. I have worked on paper work and watched some football, had some great coffee, took another nap and now am going to put up another tree in MY house. I answered some long overdue emails, paid some bills, and basically have not said a word. After weeks of long hard days, making magic in other people's homes and knowing I have 2 more long weeks of the same if not more intense, the silence has not been that bad. I have read the paper and know that there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING I want or need bad enough to get up in the wee hours of the morning to stand in line for. NOTHING!!!! Those same things will be on sale again in the next few weeks and I have done most of my shopping throughout the year or online.

I had planned to write my Christmas letter today, but the words would not come, so I will do that another day.

One of the greatest additions to my life this past year has been blogging. I never dreamed I would love it so much, meet such interesting and kind people, nor find time to just "do it"! I am so thankful for all of my new friends. So on this Thanksgiving evening I AM THANKFUL!
Is everything right in my world? No
Do I have some situations that I wish were different? Yes
But I would guess that each of you would have those same answers. One thing that tree decorating always brings home to me...Trouble, sorrow and pain come to all. No matter how big and beautiful the house is on the outside, on the inside the same life problems reside.

Tomorrow I will be back to making magic, decking halls, and being TIRED, but very thankful that I can still work, have a very good job, and can bring smiles to many families. Can you believe I did an entire post without talking about my boys....Parker, Jack, Austin and Grayson...THAT'S a FIRST!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Teresa

You still have time to visit my HOLIDAY BLOG and a chance to win two giveaways....really good ones....

How could I have possibly forgotten to say that I am SO THANKFUL that the VIKINGS are 9-1!
BRETT FARVE is making me SO PROUD! (and I will admit I have bragged a tad to those Brett haters)

I so treasure any quiet alone moments **sigh**, when I can do exactly what I want, at a leisurely pace! So happy that you had some "down time", today, to recharge that energy!

And, you make the blogging world a more interesting place to hang out!

Love, hugs, and prayers, for the coming weeks! I know that they will be busy, but, I also know that prayer will make them go much more smoothly! Blessings!

It's too close to finals for me to travel so we stayed home and had dinner with friends. Now it's just me and my husband and TV on DVD. Sometime quiet is good. Peace, Sarah

How right you are; no matter how beautiful or big a house is it's never perfect inside. We all have our difficulties. Sometimes a day alone is great. Sorry it had to be on Thanksgiving though. But I understand what you were saying. And thank you for blog hopping and stopping by Heart Choices.

May the Lord bless you,
Debbie

My day was much like yours... slow morning, kids went to their dad's for the day, etc. BUT when they got back tonight, we did go see The Blind Side tonight.

Loved it!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm so very glad that you experienced some alone time. Sometimes, we need that time to replenish before it gets busy again. In your case, I know that this is a very busy time for you.

Chicken salad actually sound pretty good. Still poultry just doesn't say gobble gobble!

First of all, thank you for your sweet visit to my blog and the comments you shared. Secondly, thank you for sharing your heart so beautifully in this letter you wrote. In my mind, it is one of the best letters I have read, written from a mother and grandma's heart. A hearty amen, is what I felt when I finished reading it. Thirdly, the verse that you have on your top banner is one of my very favorite verses. It has carried me through many difficult situations in life. And last, I just spent the last 15 minutes of this early morning looking and reading your Christmas blog. What a truly talented lady you are! No wonder they call you and seek your artistic ability...you do beautiful work!!!!

As for a Christmas giveaway...how much fun would that be! So, you are a generous lady also.

I'm glad you got some much needed rest!! I like those kind of days too and don't mind being alone sometimes as well. I am a very good cook though, lol!!

I LOVE the Vikings and I'm really happy about their record this year. My husband is a Packer fan (blech!) and he loves to rub it in that we're only doing so well because of Favre, which he knows will irritate me, lol!!

Good luck in the upcoming weeks! You do beautiful work but I imagine the effort is draining.

Thanksgiving is a state of mind not an elaborite culinary opportunity!

There is much to be said for a quiet day now and then. It can be food for the soul which, at times, is more important than food for our stomach. Lovely blog - thank you for stopping by My Own Velvet Room!

Sounds like you had a Thanksgiving Day that you might not have wanted but needed. We did the same kind of thing, because you know I don't cook, but I finally ordered some favs of Roys for dinner. We saw Blind Side and I finished up the Holly Springs book by the Mitford author whose name escapes me now. All in all not a bad day. Stay energized for the next few weeks. Blessings!

You describe a few hours of quiet here, which was a blessing.
I did not shop on black Friday either; the bargains will still be there in future days.
Brett is a champion athlete. I am a life long Packers fan, so am conflicted when he plays against them, but I greatly admire Brett and his genius sports ability.
I am with you there.
