Be sure you read to the end…a giveaway and a surprise post you.do.not.want.to.miss !
How different our world would be if every child was told that over and over.
If every adult believed those words, it would change history. It is the new mantra in our house with the “little’s”, not that they did not know it, but we are going to verbalize it daily.
I find myself saying it to myself. I know in my life that was not something affirmed to me and that in part controls my thinking even today.
Maybe because I was affected by the lack of affirmation, I feel stronger about the words than they really are. To me they are life changing.
I loved the movie and I see a lot of movies…The message moves me and that’s not something I can say about many movies today. Enough about that…Go see it.
Monday Happys!!!!!
(Monday is my least favorite day of the week)
1) Football season is underway…that makes me a happy camper..though no Brett may push me over the edge
2) We had a great family dinner Saturday night at a wonderful new restaurant…compliments of Micah and Amanda…all four little's.
I did not take one picture…(for which the older boys were so thankful for)
3) Micah (my son-in-law) called me Saturday and these were his words…" Grammy, make a list of any things you need done around the house and list them in priority.
Next Saturday I am bringing my nephew over and we are going to trim your big tree and anything else you need done”! Smile…"Micah is kind, he is smart and he is important”
4)Greg won a fabulous trip for he and Dana….Atlantis….November..
5) Some dear friends that have been out of work for way too long…had to move in with teenage daughters to their parents.
They have had one let down after another over the last 18 months…THEY GOT A NEW JOB…from Texas to Utah…but a new start…Thank you God.
6) We are taking a 3 day, ALL of the Family, trip to Dallas for the LSU game, Labor Day weekend.
7) Parker is SO HAPPY in Middle School. Small brag…forgive me..There are 600 in his grade and he was chosen one of 32 to skip 6th grade Math and go to the advanced class…"He is kind, he is smart and he is important” and he is my heart.
Now for your laugh of the day…This is Mad Jack…after I told him he could not do something…Can’t you just read his mind…
Remember to check out MilandDil Designs….she has lots of new things…
Also I passed several number markers on my blog in post and followers…so I want to celebrate you..
Leave a comment on this post and you will go in a drawing for one of the famous card boxes….
I will draw on Sunday..
Now for the BEST PART of this POST…
Go to the holiday blog and Mike (my wonderful Marine friend)
is guest posting…All comments on that post will go in the drawing too..
When he writes, I listen.
He is kind, he is smart and he is important.

Enter me....I love your cards!
Hugs,

You are SUPER KIND, SUPER SMART AND SUPER IMPORTANT! I loved the movie.
I absolutely love this movie. Just bought the book today, and I'm anxious to get started on it.
And I completely agree that every child should be told that. Aibileen was a wise woman.
I have not been to a movie theater in a long time. If I go I will go to see this. I can just feel your energy, love and caring for your family & friends throughout every post. You are an very Important & smart Grammy Girlfriend :)
hugs & blessings, Faythe @GMT~
You is smart. You is kind. You is important.
I haven't seen the movie yet, but I read the book and it is phenomenal. I'm a teacher and this year it's my goal to make each of my students believe they are kind, smart, and important and take that belief with them when they leave my classroom!
I loved the movie. So many good things to remember.
SOmetimes you gotta say no even if you are a Grammy.
I saw the movie The Help with my hubby on my birthday and we both thought it was really good. But so sad that people were treated like that not all that many years ago.
Lots going on in this post. I have to go back and make sure I don't miss anything. I hope to see that movie this week. Going to push myself to get out! I'm not into football but I know my husband is taping tonights game. Sounds like a great dinner and how awesome that you were asked to make a list of things you want done. That trip to Atlantis will be fun, how cool was that to win it! Thanking God for the job your dear friends got.
I wish them happiness in their new venture. Glad Parker is happy at school. Cute picture of Jack. Have a great week.
I like your Monday Happys...they sure made me smile! It's so important to focus on the blessings in our lives, rather than dwell upon the misfortune...your post has help to remind me of that. :-)
Blessings...
Love your post! I am going on a "Girl's Night Out" tomorrow night to see "The Help". I read the book last year and just loved it! Love the dialogue of the maids!
Have a great week Teresa!
Blessings!
Ah, I just finished the book today. Such a great read. I have to wait for my daughter to read it now, before we see the movie.
Fondly,
Glenda
I loved it, too! and you're right.....everyone needs to hear such affirmation in their lives!
Suzanne
Love the book and movie!
Would love your card box even more!
I have not seen the movie but it will be seen SOON! I loved the pictures of your handsome grandsons! What a sweet Son-in-law! You are blessed!
Kind, smart, and important=YOU:)
Hugs!
Hi Teresa! I love that saying and I haven't seen that movie yet! I think more folks need to hear those words.
Thanks for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
You are so right about the power of our words!
I think I'm the last girl in America who hasn't seen The Help yet! I loved the book and I've heard the movie is really good....Oh well, there's always Netflix?
That was not affirmed to me as well (any wonder I struggle with low self esteem?). Every child ought to have someone in his/her life who says those words ... and means them. I vow to use those words regularly with my grands. {hug}
What a wonderful post. You are so right-all children need to hear this daily! I loved the book and movie too, I can't say enough good things about it!I know things were hard for these ladies, but they did not let it get in the way of their love for the children! That expression on Jack's face is priceless-I remember that look on my boys faces when they were small.LOL!
Very important words that we forget to say often enough.
I just know I will love this movie. Hello - I'm your newest follower from the Welcome Wednesday Blog Hop. Please follow me back and feel free to drop by anytime.

Following from Welcome Wednesday Blog Hop! I hope to see this movie!
I would love to win a card box. They are beautiful. Just for the record Teresa, you is kind, you is smart and you is important!
I can't think of a better Mantra...I never received any encouragement or confidence building during my childhood and I know it has shaped me as an adult, in both good and not so good ways. I tell my family every time I see or talk to them that I love them and I make sure that they all know they can be anything and do anything they want. I think it is super important to have a Cheerleader through life. I still have not seen this movie and need to do that as I keep hearing how great it is. Love the Jack mad face, I've seen it many times as well and don't you just love it. Have a great day, my friend.
I agree with you about every kid needing to hear that everyday! i just finished the book...still need to see the movie!
Hello! I just followed your blog from the blog hop! I hope to see you over at Jennifer's Deals! www.jennifersdeals.blogspot.com
This was a wonderful movie! In July, when we went to visit our daughter and son in law, I read her copy of The Help...they did a great job with the actors for the characters they portrayed! I especially loved the twins that played Mae Mobley :o)
Yay! For all your "Monday Happys"! :o)
Blessings & Aloha!
..once again...catching up on blog reads! :o)
