Never in my year of blogging, have I had the response I have had to
this post. The emails along with the comments have been almost overwhelming. Sadly there are many situations like this one and I had NO idea I was touching on a subject that so many shared. Maybe not the same exact situation, but a prison situation of some kind. Some bloggers did not want to share their details, but emailed me. All I can say is WOW!.
Many of you are new readers, meaning some of you will have seen some of these pictures before.
I have received a couple of letters from Barry this week and in each one all he can talk about is that three hours he got acquainted with his grandson for the first time; this little man we call JACK! For me, I have known him since he took his first breath. I know him WELL. I cannot imagine life without him. I know his LAUGH, I know his SNUGGLE, I know his LIKES and DISLIKES, I know his look when he falls asleep and his
grin when he wakes up. TONIGHT I am going to show you a FEW of the MANY FACES of a little boy that JUST MAY HAVE CHANGED A MAN'S LIFE! There will be those who wonder how I could know that. And the truth is I don't, but in his letters I read HOPE, JOY and a REASON to LIVE. WHO knows, maybe a REASON to BE A DIFFERENT MAN. MAYBE the HOPE of a SECOND CHANCE! I am pretty sure he knows he failed at fatherhood, at least up until now, but maybe, just maybe he will have another chance. And I for one, will be hoping and praying that HE IS A CHANGED MAN! SO here is JACK being JACK!
I BELIEVE THIS LITTLE GUY COULD MAKE THE DIFFERENCE!

He is beyond precious.
He is a sweetiepie! Love all of these pictures! Thanks for sharing the pictures and the story! HUGS!
I believe in miracles and second chances. I have experienced both and this "Miracle" named Jack is being used by God to bring a second chance to his Grandpa. Nothing like a child to melt a heart. And Jack is a heart melter:) Praying for this as it unfolds. How exciting it is to see God working things out in His Time:)
Love and Hugs, Laurie
I think it is wonderful he had those 3 hours. our grandchildren...my oh my what a blessing they are. I'm like you and cannot even imagine my life without our little Maddox but his other grandmother doesn't feel the same. What a sad loss....

Jack is a cutie pie that would be quite difficult to resist. I'm thrilled that Barry's life has been touched by meeting his boy's boy. I hope that they will continue to forge a relationship.
Oh, he is just beautiful! Thank you for sharing! My husband is a corrections officer, he has been one for just about 20 years now & he has seen quite a bit in his day....whenever he sees a child com ein he hopes that they can grow to overlook and love and he hopes that that little life gives the offender hope to change. I will tell you that the one thing that he dislikes most about his job is when he has to monitor the visits, it just breaks his heart. Thank you so much for sharing your Jack & this beautiful story! I am praying for the best outcome for all of you! God Bless!
Hi Teresa! Oh, the many little faces of Jack! He's adorable!

All of Jack's faces are precious, thanks for sharing.
I can't think of a better motivator to change for the better than for this little darling. He is just the sweetest and look at those eyes! Adorable!
I believe he can too.
He is adorable! After seeing these photos, I had to go back and read your post about his grandfather. I believe that, through you, God has already worked a miracle, and I agree with you - through this little guy, God is going to work more miracles. laurie
I had to go back a couple of blogs so I could "understand" the whole story. amazing.
and isn't it just like a child to mend broken hearts and humble us and remind us that hope and love always exist---no matter what.
Wow ... I am so glad you found my blog this week, so that I was able to find YOU! Your post about your son-in-law is amazingly touching. I so related to how you said you've been in your own prisons at times ... not physical ones, but maybe mental, spiritual, intangible ones. I have so been there!
I am so glad that God extends grace to us the way you graciously did to Barry. Your act of grace inspired a similar act in Micah. Wow. Wow. Wow. That's all I can say.
My son's name is Micah, by the way. He is 10, with cystic fibrosis. I see God's grace in his life every single day.
What a blessing your blog has been to me today! I am following now!
Oh ... just sent you a friend request on FB, too ... my name is Melinda ... ;0)
Oh Teresa - my surprise was in the mailbox today... complete with stickers on the package! Thank you Thank you!
What a sweet little blessing...I cannot wait to here more of this story..
I believe you are right!!
