CHECKING IN

Sorry I have been away so long. I had such good intentions of blogging from the ship. The internet connections were just too hard.
The internet was come and go at best on the ship and after loosing a couple of posts that were almost finished, I just gave up.
We have been CELEBRATING for the last two weeks. First on a Disney Cruise with Parker to celebrate his 11th birthday. He had a BLAST. Then our 38th anniversary was June 3rd, so our trip covered both dates. Then we went straight from the boat to a plane to the wedding of a long time friend. We finally arrived back home late last night TIRED to the BONE... I guess that's what vacations are for...fun and fatigue.

There were a few mishaps on the trip that I may share later, but so many great memories and lots of pictures to share...BUT IT MAY TAKE ME A FEW DAYS. I probably have never told the blog world but I SUFFER from POST TRIP/VACATION DEPRESSION, every time. Today would be a MAJOR CASE. No matter how much I tell myself I will not be down and depressed, it happens without fail. I wish there was a drug you could take as you leave a trip and come home feeling great. I wish airlines were not such a hassle, I wish somehow the mail would SHRINK while we are gone, instead it multiplies....I have at least 100 pieces of mail to open and probably more than a few bills to pay. Then there are all the phone messages to return (even tree customers wanting to be sure of their Christmas tree date) and then there is the laundry...
I can never rest until I get it all done and put away...a sickness I have had to deal with all my life. It's DONE! I even feel guilty sharing those feelings as I know there are so many that would love to be going on a cruise and cannot...So please know that I feel very blessed to be able travel and ESPECIALLY with the grandkids...
I have so many of my favorite blogs to catch up on. At 50 cents a minute on the ship I had to read fast when I had a chance and still got off the boat and owed them $125.00 for internet minutes...and most of that was just communication with my kids back home..

I have lots of fun pictures...and a lot to say about DISNEY CRUISES versus DISNEY at the PARKS. I hope to work on the pictures tomorrow.
The Disney winners will have some special treats coming their way in the next few weeks. I had to have some things shipped home. Will leave you with one of my favorite shots of the week....My Parker looking at the sea on our first day to sail. I just wonder what he was thinking.
I will be BACK SOON with a post and pictures of our trip, plus some great beach pictures of Greg and Dana and their boys on their vacation. How I missed my funny little JACK while I was gone. He loved all his surprises but we missed that little man SO much. I need an entire JACK day this week.

Oh, I can't wait to hear all about it! I'd love to take my boys on a Disney cruise, so I want to hear what you thought!

And, girl, you were on VACATION, don't worry about being missing from the blog world during that time. :)

Glad to have you back, though!

Hi Teresa and how nice to hear from you! I'm sorry you're feeling a bit down! Wish I could send you a 'laundry is done and put up happy pill'! :)
I'm sure you had a great time on your cruise and will look forward to hearing about it.
Be a sweetie,

Welcome home!! It sounds like a wonderful get away and two great reasons to do it. I have post holiday, post company, and post vacation downers too. Not really depressed...just a little let down. I think it's because there's always a big build up to those events and then it's all back to normal. Normal is great too. :)

Dear Teresa, I am very happy to hear from you, with these tidbits about your Disney cruise, and your promise of more to come in future. You are sweet to share your joy and your sadness upon your return, which I understand.

Sounds like you had a wonderful time, and I understand all the work that comes with getting home from vacation. Even when we go away for the weekend that day back is awful. Looking forward to pictures.

Oh, Disney Withdrawal is the worst! But I have a surefire cure - take two aspirins, go to bed, and start planning your next Disney trip!

Nice to have you back. I understand about the post-holiday blues. Can you imagine how I felt when I got back home after a year in France??!!! :-)

Welcome home. I always dread the last day of vacation too. In fact I cried when we had to leave the ship...(so I can relate).

Can't wait to see pics of your trip!...and hear about your mishaps. Uh oh!

Rest up today!

I'm sure exhaustion plays a big role in the post-vacation depression! I'm glad you had such a great time, though.

I understand about the laundry. I have to get everything unpacked and put away first thing when we get home. We recently returned from our vacation at the beach. We rented a house with a washer and dryer...we always do. That way, I keep my laundry done so that we don't have a big pile to do when I return. Of course, that's not possible on the ship, I guess!

Take your time...it will all get done. Relax, put your feet up, fix yourself some tea, have some chocolate, THEN open that mail! ;-)

Teresa,

Whew, just reading your post made me feel winded, like you probably feel. Leaving blessed vacation is the hardest part about coming back to reality, this is the very reason I long for our heavenly home, no more downsides!

Glad to have you back and looking forward to the many, many pictures you will share and the stories to share.

Sounds like a great trip...Happy Anniversary. I agree with you, it is a blessing being able to travel with the family. My husband and I always feel so guilty when we don't have the Grandbabes with us...it almost feels like cheating somehow that we are having fun and they are at home. I miss them so much if I don't see them almost every day. I would not make a long distance Jammi...I would have to buy an RV, quit my job and travel around if one of them moved away. Looking forward to your pictures. Come by and see me when you get rested up and undepressed (which I totally get).

I love Disney and we are actually planning on doing the cruise this year with the grands..My own kids were so Disney spoiled because my parents live close by and my Dad worked for Delta (now those were the days..passes to fly) they used to say do we have to go to disney again!
They have great memories now and I guess that's what counts. Looking forward to the photo's.
The first one is great (what was he thinking)?

I've never been on a Disney cruise but love the mouse. :-) What a lovely way to celebrate your anniversary and your grandson's birthday!! Hoping your post vacation depression rests lightly on you, Teresa.
