After reading some comments and some emails, I had a THOUGHT!
That is only funny because once I start trees, the thoughts become less and less. My life then becomes a marathon. I am so thrilled that this series is helpful to so many of you. It is my privilege to give you tips that might help you in your holiday decorating. My head is full of tips that you probably have never even thought about (unless you decorate lots of trees), so I need to get them written down. I realize I probably should put the tips in better form, but I just prefer talking to you as if we were sitting across the table with a cup of coffee.
You are all my NEW and CHERISHED friends.
BUT, I do want many bloggers to benefit from them.
If you have read my blog long, you know I don't ask you to do a bunch of different things to win a giveaway. I just like to GIVE STUFF AWAY. But this one time, I am going to ask you to mention or link to my blog and the Holiday Decorating posts. Many of you need NO help and could probably give me tips, but there are so many people that just need some easy, practical, economical ways to make Christmas magic. That's my goal!!!!!
So here is the DEAL! If you mention my blog and briefly tell what the current posts are about, you will go into a drawing for a SPECIAL giveaway. (be sure and let me know you did this)
The giveaway this week will be a FREE consultation with me....(this could be the most expensive giveaway that I have done) We can do it by email, by phone, however you want to do it. I will help you plan your decorating, give you some personal tips for your specific needs, plus I will ship you a box of Christmas ornaments....Then we will show your tree or trees on my blog later in the year.
IT will work like this ....if you write about my blog or link to my blog, you will go in a drawing for the personal consult.
Then for everyone that comments this week, beginning with last nights post..and you can comment as many times as you want, ask questions,etc..... YOU will be entered in another drawing for a SPECIAL HOLIDAY TREAT. I will let Parker draw for both of these this Friday,August 28th.
If there are any of you out there in blogland that are interested in maybe doing what I do in your city, I will be glad to give you some tips on how to get started. I wish some of you lived in my city. I am always looking for extra help.
Be sure and read the post below that I posted late last night...I don't want you to miss any tips.
One day this week, I am going to share with you the most special tree that I have ever done and it is one that YOU can do too.

Teresa,
I think this inspires all of us to become better decorators. We all want people to walk into our homes and see the splendor and love of the holidays in our home. I can't wait to keep track of all your wonderful hints and hitting up all the stores when their holiday or Christmas stuff comes in.
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
What a fun idea! You are so generous! Where we live, it would be difficult to generate any business for what you do, but I think it's an awesome idea! Hope you have a great week, and I'm gonna post your blog and blog about your business! Hope I can send some interest your way!
you are just the sweetest! I am going to be making some minor changes to my blog...but if you will remind me to link to you...I will do it after I get things organized! I will do it...and just cause...not even for the extra gifts!!! although I would not refuse them! lol
I love your blog...and in a month..or so...I will be here like stink on a t**d!lol
What a great idea!!! I think blogging just inspires creative thinking!
Blessings

Oh and I gave you a shout out at the end of my last post!

I love the reason for you to write in your blog. How amazing that your mom wrote in journals for 30 years. This is great! What a great way to look back at her life. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
I love a beautiful fancy tree, but one year we put our tree in the kitchen window and decorated it with colorful old kitchen pot holders, and kitchen utensils from the 50's. And I used a colorful retro tablecloth as a tree skirt. It was so cute.
I would love to see some of your trees. I am sure they are wonderful.
We gave our huge, full, 9 foot tree to one of our daughters and now mine is only 7 ft., and skinny. But I still make it fancy and I love it.
When ya get older ya just don't have the energy to climb ladders to put tons of lights on etc.
My husband who is soon gonna be 64 isn't into all of that, so I chose a smaller tree that I can pretty much do by myself.
I enjoyed your tips and I might get some clear glass balls to put inside the tree to reflect the lights and make it look fuller. Good tip. Thanks!

Teresa I linked to you in my blog and I gave a little blurb about what you are posting about!

AAACK! I am SO excited to offer a link to your blog (I just have to figure out how to do it!)--and I intended to blog about you anyway because I have already told most of my friends about this wonderful website. I sure want the rest of my friends to check you out! It is so generous of you to offer a consultation AND a giveaway. Please, please, please let me win! Ha!
I meant to ask you yesterday but forgot. Have you done cowboy trees? We live in Oklahoma and I got this hare-brained idea to do a western tree this year. I have three little grandcowboys and they would love a tree with spurs and bits. Just wondered if you had any suggestions.
Thanks so much for all your tips. I love it!
Just this weekend my momma was telling me she found a blog about decorating Christmas trees. And I thought, "I've got to find her before November."
I'm so glad you made your way to my tiny corner of the internet world so I could find yours! I can't wait to see the special tree!
You have so much energy and SO many good ideas! and now a contest???? I love it.
I will see if I can incorporate a link to your blog on mine over the next few days..this will be fun.
Teresa-
I did a post about your blog & awesome giveaway. I would love to win! I grew up kind of close to Shreveport - if I still lived down there, I would so ask you to do my trees!

THANK YOU so much for becoming a follower on my blog. I have to say that fate brought us together in the blogging land because I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, Christmas and what you do.
I have given you a shout out on my blog. It's not necessarily to win your giveaway but because it's great to find someone as passionate as me.
Thanks for your tips. You're the best.
Love your blog and your zest for helping others! Hopefully, some of my blogger friends will hop on over for a visit!
Another giveaway? Aren't you a sweetie pie?! I've mentioned your giveaway on my post tonight. I hope you get lots of entries.
Hugs sweet friend!

(ps...thanks for your card...it made my day!)
It's been forever...I've blogged very little this summer so I'm trying to catch up a little.
My goodness! Just read through your last few posts...what a wealth of information! My hubby and I are Christmas crazy, so we relate well to what you say. We start decorating our house on November 1 so that we can try and finish just before Thanksgiving. I was happy to read several of the things we've been doing right! (using Dollar General ornaments to fill in the middle, starting at the top, etc., using good garland, etc...) I'm definitely anxious to read more in the days ahead. I'm with you on tree toppers, we typically don't use one. What I can see in those photos looks fabulous. I'm thrilled for you that you've created such a wonderful business around Christmas decorating. = ) I'll definitely be back!
Blessings,
Tracy
First of all...I have to say...I am catching up on my blog reading...finally! With that said, I made it to this most recent post...I like to go back and then work my way forward... I say this, cuz I read that you are hosting another giveaway and mentioned abou commenting...honestly, I did not comment the ga-zilliontimes previously, cuz of your giveaway...but how exciting that I did :o)
I hope to post soon about your wonderful blog, between my Wed and Fri post..if not, definitely in my Sat post! (oh, I just re-read that you will be drawing this Fri, so I better get to posting for Thursday!) I am just so slow! and computer challenged, it takes me forever to enter a post!
One last thing (sorry about my long comments! ...gotta work on that!)... you mentioned in your ohter post about referring to your "clients" and "customers", but truly they become friends! I feel the very same way of those that order the art taht I do, and mentioned that in one of my "old, old" first posts (2 months ago! haha)
Blessings & aloha!
I linked to you in a post today....just letting you know to please please please enter me in that....God knows I need it!
LOL
I think this is so awesome that you are doing these posts....
we all need help especially at Christmas time!
Oh my goodness...you are a inspiration ...the engery you have and your insight and willingness to share with others.....Thank you for being my morning cup of coffee. Bring on the Trees!!!!!
Question....when you say throw away the end of the ornament because you wire the ornament to the tree how do you attach the wire if the end is gone? Thanks...
I just blogged a bit about your tips & giveaway. I just love the holidays. I can't wait to read more tips and see some pictures!
I will definitely be putting up a post about this over the weekend plus a link back here. Trust me, I seriously need all the help I can get when it comes to decorating. And, with a new (to us) home I'll be looking for lots of ideas. Thanks so much for your advice. Blessings, SusanD
