Encouragement

****After reading all the comments, I really feel like I need to add a line or two. I did that post late one night in a hotel room..had not even planned to post this round of the blog hop..When I looked at the list of all the times the "Peace Speaker" had shown up BIG in my life, I felt like I was looking at someone else's life. Wow, I got through all that and am still OK!...and my husband has been totally fine for the past 15 years after quadruple bypass. Never had another sick day...If my kids have read it, they would tell you I do good in the Big Things...I do a little less than Great in the little things....so just did not want you to think I sail through life with no stress...Talk to me on a day I have 3 houses to decorate for Christmas and you will know THAT PEACE does not always manifest itself. All that said...I am so thankful for that supernatural, God breathed Peace that has come in everyone of those hard times.

This weeks Blog Hop focuses on a favorite quote, bible verse or saying and why it's meaningful to you....I have so many, but will just share a couple....
One of my favorite scriptures that has proven true over and over in my life is ......

Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.] John 14:27 (Amplified)

This scripture was true when my husband had a heart attack at 48, when my beautiful daughter told us she was pregnant her senior year of high school, it was true when my son went through a hard divorce, it was true when my parents suddenly died three months apart to the day, it was true when Baby Jack almost died from spinal meningitis, and it was true again recently when little Grayson was born. I know that peace and it is unexplainable.

For one of my very favorite quotes.....
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away."
I don't know about you but I want many moments that take my breath away....and grandbabies DO THAT over and over again.

It looks like you have been through so much. You must have a very strong faith to be at peace. I admire that in a person.

Wow...God has spoken to me through you today. I needed to read that scripture because I tend to worry about the progress and health of our unborn baby. I just want to make sure that everything is ok and going as it should. We've waited so long for this miracle and I want to protect it. I keep praying over and over again for it's protection. I know that God is in completely control and it helps to be reminded. THANK YOU!

BTW...it blows me away to see that you've gone through many hardships in life and God has helped you move on. You are an amazing testimony of God's grace!

It is so true that during those trials of life, we are made stronger at the end of it, simply by our faith in God alone and trusting in Him to get us through the other side.

What a great scripture verse...we always need peace, don't we? I, too, seem to receive it more readily in the big issues...I guess I think I can handle the little problems without Him...not a smart idea! Bless you!

I agree. Just yesterday, we took a family day to the beach and aquarium. I was sitting and watching my kids and husband playing in the water. I couldn't help but think what a perfect memory. Just to watch the three of them having so much fun was the kind of gift you can't buy.

You took the words right out of my mouth!

That verse in John really speaks to my heart - especially with all that is going on in my life right now.

And that quote - again, one of my favorites!

May God grant you many more moments that take your breath away.

Many blessings,
Allison

I believe I know exactly what you mean. I don't have any grandchildren yet. My daughter doesn't seem to want to have any and my son is in love, leaves with his best girl but doesn't seem to be in any hurry for that. My kids are 28 & 30 and I'm almost 58. I wanted to be a young grandmother.
Because I have severe asthma I don't get around as good as I use to. So I have enjoyed my sister's grandchildren and some young friends children. One thing I know for sure "My God is an Awesome God"
